My laboratories: Lab NO. 311 is for structural studies & Lab NO. 312 is for materials studies. Both located at the third floor at
the chemistry department building).
Main interest: Computational chemistry
Quantum mechanical methods ( Ab initio; Density Function Theory and some Semi-empirical methods) have many practical applications to the study of molecular structure and properties, e.g.
< Investigating the thermodynamic and kinetic properties of some species by using PES.
< Calculating relative conformational energies of a series of analogous structures.
< Determining frontier orbital interactions between donor and acceptor molecules reactivity predications.
< Obtaining partial atomic charges, using Mulliken population analysis, to predict likely sites of attack.
< Transition state search for conformers and reactions. Potential energy surface applications.
